Hard & Light Demo with Chef Gavin Bridge at our Banks Kitchen Boutique this Saturday!

Gavin Bridge was drawn to food from a young age, it has been the centre piece of his childhood. Ever since he could reach the kitchen counter he was hooked on making food.

At school he excelled at Water Polo and has played for Western Province alongside Carl Wastie at Pinelands High, whilst nurturing his passion for food by attending Home Economics.

From there he furthered his studies through the Educational Institute of American Hotel & Lodging Association and City & Guilds.

He has done a couple of advertisements for Nedbank, Liptons and Knorr to make money on the side to pay for his studies and fulfill his dream of becoming a chef.

He started his career as a trainee chef under the watchful eye of Head Chef Alex Dockerty at The Vineyard Hotel and moved on from there working at some top establishments in and around Cape Town – TheBay Hotel, Pepenero & Kove, Jakes and Simons at Groot Contantia to name but a few.

He is currently based at Ginja as a Sous Chef at the V&A Hotel where he works alongside Executive Head Chef Stefan Muller.
