Jazz Around Town

The annual Cape Town Jazz Fest – fourth largest jazz festival in the world – is back with a stellar line up for 2019! Here’s what you can expect from this year’s event.

Weekend Activities

Doors open at 18h00 on Friday and 16h00 on Saturday, arrive early to miss the traffic and enjoy dinner or drinks before the show starts. Gin, beer and coffee culture is a big trend, let your taste buds explore the eclectic offering.

Line Up

With the likes of Chaka Khan, Elaine Elias and SAMA-winner Shekinah, a weekend pass is well worth its weight in gold. South Africa’s The Lady Day Big Band will also be performing and is bound to be a hit – the 20 piece ensemble is the first all-female band in South Africa.

Other Attractions

In addition to the Jazz Fest, there is a Duotone Photographic Exhibition and an array of food and shopping stalls sure to keep the whole family entertained. For those looking to make a day of it, head to the local museums, go wine tasting  or hop on a bus tour through the city.

Whatever you do this weekend, stay safe and enjoy!
