Run For Coffee: The Girls Running Club That Inspired A Collective
There truly is no better reward after a morning run than a cup of coffee. And any Capetonian knows that there is an abundance of delicious coffee shops around The Atlantic Seaboard! So it is no wonder that Run For Coffee SA has gained massive popularity over the past year.
What is Run For Coffee SA?
Run For Coffee SA is a female collective of women from all walks of life who run together 2-3 times a week. The run club started with two girls, co-founder Danielle van Duyn and Cleo Marcopoulos, who casually joined forces to improve their running ability. To reward themselves after their runs, they would sit and have coffee, supporting different cafes in their neighbourhood, which gave life to the name "Run for Coffee".
Soon after, the girls they bumped into on their runs around The Atlantic Seaboard (as well as on social media) would ask to join them. One year later, the "Run For Coffee" club is snowballing across South Africa and now going global, with London having launched in February 2022.
Run For Coffee welcomes all those who identify as female to join us, no matter their fitness levels. The women who are part of this running collective have a passion for fitness and empowering women. They aim to create a sisterhood where members can feel safe while exercising, create opportunities to network, make new friends, and enjoy coffee together.
